Tanisha Barnes Hosts BGM Charity Comedy Show

Hosting the Blaq Gurl Moves Charity Comedy Show is Tanisha Barnes. She is a Brooklyn based stand-up comedian who was featured in 2019’s first “Black Women in Comedy Festival ” in New York.

Her self-deprecating style of humor proudly sheds light on her pre-trending awkwardness, sexual angst, and the disappointment of not fitting into the “tall girl” stereotype. 

As part of The Roomshakerz, a team of spoken word artists, musicians and comedians, she has performed around the city. Most recently featured in the improv play “Adam vs Eve” which was seen at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe early November.

This charity event is Friday, December 14, 2019, 7:45pm at Home Sweet Harlem, 1525 Amsterdam Ave, New York. A portion of the proceeds will be used to buy care packages for women experiencing homelessness. You can purchase tickets here. Seating is limited.
